Core Components
Our Pain Rehabilitation Program at DFW Mind + Body includes a range of core components designed to address the multifaceted nature of chronic pain, addiction, and behavioral health and promote overall well-being.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) helps patients retrain their brains to reinterpret pain signals, reducing the intensity of chronic pain. This innovative approach targets the neural pathways associated with pain, fostering long-term relief and improved well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Training
Cognitive Behavioral Training (CBT) helps participants reframe negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping mechanisms. This evidence-based approach is crucial in managing the psychological aspects of chronic pain.
VR Biofeedback
VR Biofeedback sessions teach patients to control physiological functions such as heart rate and muscle tension. By gaining awareness and control over these processes, individuals can reduce pain and stress.
Individualized Time with a Physician
Participants meet with a physician 2-3 times per week for personalized assessments and treatment adjustments. These sessions ensure that each patient's unique needs are addressed, and their progress is closely monitored.
Evaluations with a Pain Specialist, Psychiatrist, Mind + Body Physician and Addiction Specialist
Comprehensive medical evaluations by pain specialists, psychiatrists and addiction specialists are conducted as needed with ongoing intensive medical management. These evaluations help in formulating a precise and effective treatment plan, addressing both physical and mental health aspects.
Individual Therapy
One-on-one therapy sessions provide a safe space for patients to explore personal challenges and receive tailored guidance. This individualized attention helps in addressing specific issues related to their pain, addiction, and behavioral health experience.
Group Therapy
Group therapy fosters a supportive community where participants can share their experiences and learn from others facing similar challenges. This collective approach enhances emotional support and encourages collaborative problem-solving.
Nutritional Counseling
Nutritional counseling provides participants with personalized dietary plans that support overall health and well-being. By addressing nutritional deficiencies and promoting healthy eating habits, this component helps manage pain and improve physical and mental health outcomes.
Stress Management
Stress management techniques are integrated into the program to help participants cope with daily stressors. These techniques include mindfulness, relaxation exercises, and breathing strategies that can significantly reduce stress levels and improve pain management.
Neuroplasticity Training
Neuroplasticity training focuses on retraining the brain to respond differently to pain signals. Through specific exercises and activities, participants learn to alter their brain’s pathways, reducing the perception of pain and enhancing overall function and quality of life.
